Heather Blasko, Director
Beginner 1 & Open Juvenile Team Head Coach

As the director of Team du Coeur synchronized skating since its inception in 1993, Heather was proud to return to her home club at Lakeland Arena, where she began skating at the age of five. She is an experienced individual skater and accomplished synchro competitor, having been a member of the original Detroit Skating Club Novice and Senior synchro teams - the Detroit Capets, as well as Team Elan Adult from 1993 - 2005.

Heather’s credentials include the Gold Dance medal, 7th Figure and Novice Freestyle, as well as three years as a soloist with the Southfield Ice Show; and many years of dance training in ballet, tap and jazz.

She has won five national synchro titles and one international title with Team Elan, while her Team du Coeur teams have won two Midwestern Championships in the Open Juvenile/Teen division, most recently in 2006, and a Youth/Pre-Juvenile Championship in 1999. She also served as head coach to the 2006 National Champions, Team Elan Adult.

She is a 1992 graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism. Her 18 years experience in public relations and marketing has been with companies including Marx Layne & Co., Identity Marketing and the Michigan Renaissance Festival.  Heather has two kids, Shawn and Lexi, with husband Chris.
